Puppy mill dogs live their entire lives in cages, often so many in a cage that it is nearly impossible for them to move. These animals receive no human contact, poor nutrition, no veterinary care, and no exercise. These conditions promote diseases and commonly seen issues like loss of hair, severe matting of the hair coat , flea and intestinal parasite infestation , over grown nails, open wounds on the feet and body along with other painful injuries which often go untreated. Many puppies will be born with birth defects and deformities from over-breeding and in-breeding.
The female dogs are usually bred from their first heat cycle, until they can no longer produce puppies. After a litter is born, the puppies are taken from their mother before being properly weaned, and sold in parking lots , online and to pet sores. Statistics state that a appalling 99% of puppies sold in pet stores originate from puppy mills!!!
